There are women born to light a fire within others. Women who unselfishly promote, volunteer, and guide. The quiet ones who step to the side and let others enjoy the spotlight.
Kathy Lindo is such a woman and is soon to retire from 18 years of service within the North Branch Chamber of Commerce. As the director, Kathy is most proud of the fledgling businesses that took wing and flourished under her watch. Not that she’d take any credit for those successes, but I can assure you she was there making connections, cheerleading, and supporting them every step of the way.
How do I know? Because I joined the North Branch Chamber and Kathy and her team–Kris and Julia–have been priceless resources. As an artist, writer, and dreamer, the business side of my life needs all the help it can get!
Kathy’s open door, and open heart, are incredible gifts to the community… now and going forward. Her ready laugh, ability to go around a road block, and diplomatic people skills have left their mark, and we are all the better for it.
As she heads into retirement, at least from this career, I asked if she had any parting words. Her best advice is to plan early for the future you want. “Start a retirement plan as soon as you start working and don’t touch it! I know it’s hard, but believe me, it makes all the difference. As we start the next chapter, my husband and I have the luxury of choosing what we want to do.”
