Today was a good day. It’s hard to explain in words, but it simply felt peaceful. The mood was like that of a pianist playing a simple tune in an empty room lit only with gauzy light and dust motes. I like that alone kind of feeling sometimes.
When my husband came home from work he had a bouquet of flowers in hand, with an attached card saying “Thank you for being my love.â€
“I was longing for flowers,†I said while inhaling the scents.
He just smiled like he heard the piano music in the empty room too.
Then, as we walked hand-in-hand in an evening dusk so thick I had to push against it, I looked up and saw the winter sky. The stars, vivid and large, dazzled in a midnight blue theater. A cold wind tried to end the magic, but failed.
My husband leaned in close, protective and warming. He whispered, “The stars are incredible tonight.†I could only nod, such was my reverence.
It was the best part of my day.

Greetings Gail,
I absolutely love your blog. I’ve been a long time reader. I captured your interview on ‘Alive to thrive with Brenda Fraser’ last week. It was nice to hear your voice in person. You seem like a very warm person. Best wishes on your book, and greeting cards. If you don’t mind I’ll post the link to your radio blog interview from the other week.

Oh Gail,
I feel privileged to be on the receiving end of a comment from a budding radio star. I feel like I know you too. Do you believe in kindred spirits? Perhaps we were sisters in a past life time. I will most certainly visit often.

Mike Moody says
Oh God,
I have good times in my day two, but I like don’t go around tell’n da hole world about it!
Gail says
I think, Mr. Moody, you have a right to your opinion. My writing isn’t for everyone, but I refuse to become a lightening rod for grumpy. Maybe you SHOULD share your good days with the world if for no other reason than to remind yourself of the blessings all around.
Mike Moody says
I no I have a rite to my opinion. I just donut sea the point to being yappy. If your gonna be yappy at least talk about someth’n all peoples like; and what the hell does lighting rod for grumpy mean? I feel like u’r trying to speek over my head. I’m not grumpy! I just donut see the point in given my opinion on the intranet.
Gail says
Don’t worry, “Mike”, be yappy.
