Lauren, my web designer, is a special person. Her creativity and views on life delight me like a refreshing spritz of perfume. For a while my husband and I fantasized about having her “accidentally” meeting my son. Maybe sparks would fly. Maybe, maybe…
Anyway, we like her that much.
This morning I received an email from Lauren updating me on several web questions I’ve had. Her note also included warm and personal tidbits—including our mutual love of hyacinths and gardening—and ended with an invitation heads-up. As it turns out our lovely Lauren is getting married this spring. She shared her fiancé’s name and background, and her feelings for him. She also told me about her mounting stress as wedding plans run rampant.
As I finished reading her note I couldn’t help feeling really honored. She helped me create this wonderful outlet for my interests and writing, and she’s been there for me every time I get tangled up in my technology innocence. In other words she’s been there for me a lot! My husband and I could be a smudgy inked name on her business ledger, but somehow we’ve garnered an upcoming invitation to one of the most important days of her life. It was a surprise that she thinks of us as more than a job bordering on a burden, and I was deeply touched. It was the best part of my day.
