Move that body, make it strong, supple, and well behaved…at least from a “do what you want to do†standard. (And maybe MISbehaving is what you want to do once you feel great!)
I recently received information about a Gyrotonic Method studio in Minneapolis and thought I’d pass along the information for those in the area interested in improving motion and flexibility. For those NOT in the area, but who are interested in learning more about this form of exercise, please read on anyway.

What is the GYROTONIC® method?
The rhythmic, fluid exercise, performed on a weighted pulley system, takes the body gently beyond its limitations. Continuous, flowing movements, synchronized with breathing patterns, promote neuromuscular rejuvenation and cardiovascular health. Gyrotonic exercise stretches, strengthens and elongates muscles, stimulating connective tissue in and around the joints to help improving balance, coordination, strength and flexibility. Many of the exercises are performed slowly to create maximum mind-body connection and stimulate healthy changes to the fascia system – the essence of our structure. It’s not just good for you. It’s fun. Hour-long sessions fly by. Many clients leave feeling lighter, energized and more fully embodied.
Who can do GYROTONIC® exercises?
Whether you are recovering from a serious injury, trying to prevent injury, improve your sport of choice, or simply feel better in your body every day, Gyrotonic movement is appropriate for all ages and fitness levels.

Studio
The studio is light and airy, private and open. Studio Sevilla is in what was once the ballroom of a 1920s mansion, a space meant for movement. The building itself is full of therapists, body workers and other healers, offering a network of complimentary healers to anyone in search of acupunture, Rolfing®, myofacial release or energy work.
The studio is located in the Loring Park neighborhood of Minneapolis, with easy access to highways 394, 94 and 35W.
We offer :
-individualized sessions : One person on one machine, getting all the attention and guidance from one trainer.
– Duos : One person per machine, one instructor to guide the 2 persons.
– Trios : The most affordable formula per person, while still getting a very individualized attention from the instructor.
For duos and trios, in some cases a client may be asked to take a couple of individual sessions to learn the basic settings and transitions. These are great options to complement your individual practice if you are already a client of the studio.
Gyrokinesis® : The mat format of Gyrotonic®. The same principles apply, in a small group format. More affordable as it is in a small group.
InFlow : A combination of modern dance and yoga. The goal is to move in a playful functional way. The class is taught by a dancer/yoga teacher.
