One Peace At A Time

April 16, 2015 By Gail

What brings you peace? Is it a moment, a space, a place, a face? How does it feel to you?

Our church has put out a challenge that I’m enjoying. Each week during the fifty days of Easter our pastor—Linda Frieson—gives the congregation a word to “discover” during the week. We are to heighten our awareness of “the word” and then either Instagram a photo that represents the word, or put said photo on the Hosanna Facebook page. Either way, earmark the photo with #Hosanna50.

Last week’s word was “surprise,” and this week’s word is “peace.” It’s fun to think about what peace means to me, and how I would capture it in a photograph. I sent in a shot of my son-in-law, Nick, gazing out over a creek in Northfield, MN. His stance and the quiet of the area embodied my idea of peace. The birdsong, the gentle gurgles of water tumbling over rocks, the stillness before spring comes fully alive… all bring me to a place of calm happiness. Finding peace in a chaotic world?

It is the best part of my day.

A Message From Gail

Through my blog and website, I hope to share beauty, laughter, inspiration, aging & midlife lessons and advice on dealing with menopause. I will also devote time to integrative health and healing tips and news. I want feedback and questions because, while we may be sharing the journey, every woman has her own experience and her own story.
