I’m a glass half full kind of woman. In fact, just this week my husband brought a half-full glass of water into my car and it somehow managed to get spilled on my passenger seat. Therefore, every time I got in and out of the car—which was frequently—the seat of my pants were soaking wet. I suspect people thought I have no dignity and major incontinence issues. But I digress.
My focus is on surrounding myself with positive people, situations, and thoughts. That’s why I’m always sharing uplifting quotes and deeds. I want others to feel the power of optimism, particularly as it blossoms with age.
Of late I’ve been hearing messages that affirm my beliefs. Our pastor said, “Life is not about doing, it’s about becoming whole.â€Â  Amen, Pastor Linda, amen. And just yesterday my writing coach, Lynne Klippel sent out this poem:
‘as you are.’ says the universe.

’after…’ you answer.

‘as you are.’ says the universe.

‘before…’ you answer.

‘as you are.’ says the universe.

‘when…’ you answer.

’as you are.’ says the universe.

‘how…’ you answer.

‘as you are.’ says the universe.

‘why…’ you answer.

‘because
you are happening now.
right now.

right at this moment
and
your happening
is beautiful.

the thing that both keeps me
alive
and
brings me to my knees.

you don’t even know how
breathtaking you
are.

as you are.’ says the universe
through tears.

–as you are | you are the prayer
I chose to be a glass half-full woman even if I end up wearing the contents. Messages that empower? They are the best part of my day.
