Divine Feline

November 1, 2011 By Gail

Do you ever have one of those days when something random pops in your thoughts and you say, “Where did that come from?” But then later that very thing or person appears seemingly out of nowhere and you start humming the theme song from the Twilight Zone? Yeah. Weird, right?
So I’m doing housework and I reminiscing about our cats that have left us for big bags of catnip in Heaven. For some reason I recalled how one of our cats, Shadow, would try to make her escape when the front door opened. She’d bolt outside and then freeze because she had no idea what to do next. I’d bring her back inside and she’d strut around with her tail twitching like she was the Queen of adventure.
Every so often a Jehovah’s Witness duo would come around to share their beliefs. As I listened to their story with the door open, Shadow would make a break for it. The commotion she caused proved an excellent reason to encourage the fine Jehovah’s folks to move on.
As I thought about those days I realized it had been a long time since any Jehovah Witnesses had visited. Maybe they had put a large red “X” on our address because of the strange cat and stranger homeowner.
Guess what? Right after I had those thoughts two Jehovah’s Witness members rang the doorbell. Come on, really? Really? It was woo-woo to the extreme. As I listened to them I looked at my feet expecting Shadow to bolt through the door at any moment. But on this day I was alone. Shadow passed away on April 24th, 2011. Even though she is no longer with us, her antics continue to amuse me in big and small ways. Here’s to you Shadow, you were the best part of my day. I hope you’re enjoying your catnip.

Through my blog and website, I hope to share beauty, laughter, inspiration, aging & midlife lessons and advice on dealing with menopause. I will also devote time to integrative health and healing tips and news. I want feedback and questions because, while we may be sharing the journey, every woman has her own experience and her own story.

I can not thank you adequately for the posts on your web site. I know you’d put a lot of time and effort into them and hope you know how much I appreciate it. I hope I’ll do exactly the same for someone else at some point.
    My website is Cheap Flights.

Had to tweet this. I ride when I can – but will have to do this all next week. More people certainly should.
My blog is about Healthy Cholesterol Recipes.
